Four former hotel employees who pleaded guilty in connection with last year’s death of D’Vontaye Mitchell outside a Hyatt hotel in Milwaukee all avoided prison time when they were sentenced on Wednesday.
Mitchell, 43, was killed on June 30, 2024, after he caused a disturbance at the Hyatt Regency Downtown Milwaukee, leading to four hotel workers to fight him and pin him to the pavement.
His death was caused by “restraint asphyxia and toxic effects of cocaine and methamphetamine,” the Milwaukee County Medical Examiner found.
