An NAACP flyer campaigning for the Dyer Anti-Lynching Bill, which passed the U.S. House of Representatives in 1922, but was filibustered to defeat in the Senate. Dyer, the NAACP, and freedom fighters around the country, like Flossie Baily, struggled for years to get the Dyer and other anti-lynching bills passed, to no avail. Today there is still no U.S. law specifically against lynching. In 2005, eighty of the 100 U.S. Senators voted for a resolution to apologize to victims' families and the country for their failure to outlaw lynching. MADISON (WKOW) — Former Vice President Kamala Harris will campaign with Wisconsin gubernatorial candidate David Crowley later this month.

The Associated Press reports Harris and Crowley will campaign together on Oct. 26. Harris, also a former U.S. senator and California attorney general, ran for president in 2024 but lost to President Donald Trump in the general election.

She is still contemplating another run for president in 2028.

Crowley, a Democrat, serves as Milwaukee County executive, a role he has held since 2020. He is the first Black leader elected to that position and the youngest to serve in it.

Leading up to the Democratic primary, Crowley dropped his bid for governor in July before getting back into the race once Lt. Gov. Sara Rodriguez ended her campaign. Gov. Tony Evers endorsed Crowley for governor, and he went on to upset the frontrunner at the time, Rep. Francesca Hong.

Crowley now faces a challenge from Republican Congressman Tom Tiffany, who earned an endorsement from Trump.
