SUMMARY:Juneteenth at ABHM!
DESCRIPTION:America’s Black Holocaust Museum (ABHM), founded by Dr. James Cameron, and the city of Milwaukee stand as powerful reminders of Juneteenth’s enduring legacy and significance. Honoring Juneteenth in its fullest expression, Dr. Cameron established ABHM on June 19, 1988, intentionally linking the museum’s mission to the meaning of freedom, remembrance, and continued progress.\nABHM invites the community to celebrate Milwaukee’s longstanding Juneteenth tradition by joining the citywide festivities hosted by Northcott Neighborhood House and then visiting the museum to explore the history behind this important American holiday.\nMilwaukeeans of all ages are invited to ABHM for an afternoon featuring Local History Bingo, free pizza, a community Wish Wall, and arts and crafts for children. Museum Griots (docents) will offer short gallery engagements and share the history and significance of Juneteenth.\nJuneteenth is more than a celebration of freedom. It is also a time to reflect on our shared history, honor those who came before us, and consider the path forward together.\nFriday, June 19, 2026\nFree Admission: 10:00 AM – 3:00 PMLocal History Bingo / Slice of History: 12:00 PM – 3:00 PM\nLocation: ABHM\n
