SUMMARY:Building Legacies
DESCRIPTION:MATC partners with America’s Black Holocaust Museum (ABHM) to celebrate Milwaukee’s rich history of civil rights activists and community leaders. The founder of ABHM, Dr. Cameron, is an MATC graduate, as well as several other prominent figures in Milwaukee including Clayborn Benson, founder of Wisconsin Black Historical Society & Museum (WBHSM), and Reuben Harpole, affectionately known as the “Second Mayor of Milwaukee.” The exhibit will highlight ABHM, WBHSM, as well as other prominent Black MATC graduates and community leaders. Further, the exhibit will focus on the importance of heralding and preserving local Black history through storytelling, museums, and archives.\nThe Create Gallery is located on the first floor of the M building in room M175 inside the 6th Street Cafe space.\nRegular Gallery Hours are M-F, 10am-4pm.\n
